Precautions
Use with caution in those with vomiting and diarrhea from spleen stomach deficient cold. Contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency, nausea or vomiting due to Stomach cold from deficiency, and diarrhea due to Spleen or Kidney deficiency. Use with caution in those who have any deficiency of the Spleen and Stomach. May cause side effects such as allergic reaction, allergic rash, dizziness, headache, tinnitus, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, shortness of breath, abdominal fullness, diarrhea, and reduction of red blood cells. Long-term use is discouraged as it can injure the Spleen and Stomach. Antagonizes Ju Hua (chrysanthemum flower), Xuan Shen (figwort root), Bai Xian Pi (dictamnus root bark), Jiang Can (silkworm), and counteracts Kuan Dong Hua (tussilago) and Niu Xi (achyranthes root). Avoid taking with pork.
