This formula combines Chinese herbal extracts, mushroom extracts, a few other liver-protecting nutritional ingredients, and western herbal extracts. The purpose is to improve the liver function, help the liver to regenerate new healthy cells by moving the stagnant Liver Qi, and to detoxify the Liver. All the herbs used here have been used in the past and in modern times to protect and enhance liver function. It is ideal supplement for people who have been diagnosed with liver problem or cirrhosis, abnormal liver enzymes, who used to have liver toxicity (drugs, pollution or alcoholism), or those with hepatitis B or C infected history.

Extract ingredients:
Milk Thistle: This plant unblocks obstructions of the liver and spleen; treats jaundice; prevents harmful toxins from entering into the cells of the liver; facilitates the removal of toxins from the liver cells; regenerates injured liver cells; blocks fibrosis in people with inflamed liver conditions secondary to diseases such as alcohol abuse or hepatitis. It is a powerful antioxidant and is most commonly recommended to counteract the harmful actions of alcohol on the liver.
Fo-Ti (He Shou Wu): This herb nourishes the vital essence of the liver and kidney; nourishes the blood; detoxifies; acts as a laxative; increases glycogen content in the liver; lowers blood cholesterol. It works on the liver and kidney meridians.
Rhodiola (Hong Jin Tian): This is a legendary adaptogenic herb, highly valued in helping to increase physical and mental stamina. It has been shown to shorten recovery time after prolonged workouts; increase attention span, memory, strength; have anti-toxic action; increase anti-tumor activity by increasing the body¡¦s resistance to toxins.
Peony (Bai Shao): This herb stabilizes the function of the liver; strengthens the vital essence and fluids; unobstructs the liver qi; replenishes the blood; relieves pain. It works on the liver and spleen meridians.
L-METHIONINE: It is an antioxidant that helps to eliminate fatty substances built up in the arteries and the liver.
Bupleurum (Chai Hu): This herb soothes the stagnation of liver qi; increases spleen qi; lowers blood cholesterol by increasing bile secretion and stool output. It works on the liver, gallbladder, pericardium and the triple-warmer meridians.
Agaricus Mushroom Extract (Ji Song Rong): Also known as Himmematsutake, God's mushroom or Sun mushroom. It has vitamins B1, B2, amino acids, niacin, phosphorous, iron, calcium and lots of protein and polysaccharides and Beta Glucan. It stimulates immune responses to many bacterial and viral illnesses.
American Ginseng: This herb nourishes the vital essence; enhances body fluid secretion; decreases internal heat. It works on the heart, lung and kidney meridians.
Salvia (Dan Shen): This herb improves blood circulation; eliminates blood stasis; clears pathogenic heat; decreases abscess in the abdomen; acts as a sedative. It works on the heart and liver meridians.
Gardenia (Zhi Zi): This herb removes heat and dampness; eliminates pathogenic heat and toxin from the blood; antipyretic; acts as a sedative. It works on the heart, lung, liver, stomach, gallbladder and triple-warmer meridians.
Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi): This is a metabolic restorative, aging-retardant herb, . It nourishes qi; enhances secretion of body fluids; stops excessive perspiration and seminal emission; strengthens the kidney and the heart. It works on the lung, heart and kidney meridians.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid: Also known as thioctic acid, its essential role is in the utilization of food and the production of energy. It is a universal antioxidant that quenches free radicals in both lipid and aqueous domains. It is also a potent scavenger of hydroxyl singlet-oxygen and other types of free radicals. It helps in diabetes, cataracts, ischemia/reperfusion injury and liver disease.
Artemisia (Yin Chen): This herb clears damp heat; treats jaundice. It works on the liver, spleen, gallbladder and urinary bladder meridians.
Pseudoginseng (SAN Qi): This herb removes blood stasis; decreases inflamed swelling. It works on the liver and stomach meridians. It aids the increase of coronary blood flow and has a rejuvenating effect on red blood cells and plasma. Modern research validates San Qi's traditional status as a 'magic root for life preservation'.
Curcuma (Yu Jin): This herb eliminates blood stasis; relieves pain; regulates qi circulation; removes stagnancy; clears pathogenic heat in the pericardium. It works on the lungs, heart, liver and gall bladder meridians.
Astragalus (Huang Qi): This herb nourishes the Qi; stops perspiration; strengthens the defensive energy (Wei Qi); dispels pus; accelerates the healing of wounds; regulates water metabolism; reduces edema. It works on the spleen and lung meridians.
Reishi Mushroom (Ling Zhi):This mushroom has extensive effects on heart and blood-related conditions. It improves the circulation of the myocardium (the innermost muscle of the heart); increases blood flow; lowers oxygen consumption; reduces blood fat levels, including LDL (the 'bad' cholesterol). It helps the body to adapt to a large range of environmental and biological stress. They have a kind of 'harmonizing' effect on the body.
Chrysanthemum (Ju Hua): This herb is a diaphoretic for excess wind and heat; clears the heat in the liver meridian; neutralizes toxin; brightens the eyes. It works on the lung and liver meridians.
