Kidney Stone Formula
Urinary stones are pretty common in this society especially males. If the kidney stone is large and it can obstruct the urine flow regularly and causing the edema of the kidney and causing its malfunction later. But in many cases the patients have no pain or symptoms even when the stone is large. Many people have the experience of passing stones or went through the medical process to eliminate them. Unfortunately, people who get kidney stones are much more likely to get them again. Some people fight a lifelong battle of kidney stones, forming them and passing them painfully or getting medical procedures with no end in sight. Besides some diet change and exercises, taking supplements that can prevent stone forming is also important. Avoid taking vegetables containing large amount of oxalate like spinach, rhubarb, peanuts.
This formula was developed by Dr. Yang after he was diagnosed by CAT scan and he started the expulsion experience of a large kidney stone with size of 0.8cm x1.2cm size (calcium oxalate type) without surgery or ESWL (breaking stone to smaller pieces) therapy in early 2006.
This formula he developed is intended to help preventing forming of the stones especially oxalate type which is most commonly found in urinary tract. Once the stone is identified by X-ray or CAT scan, if the position or shape of the stone has good chance to pass out, then it is advisable to ask the patient to take large quantity of water and with some diuretic herbal tea and using smooth muscle relaxing herbs to help passing the stone out.
This process need to be associated with the "JUMP"exercise that was always recommended in many China hospitals and practiced by some people even in USA which is posted on web sites. The "JUMP" exercise is easy to do. If the patient is physically fit, then ask the patient to stand on a chair and jump down to the concrete floor without much bending the knee so he or she can feel the impact. If the patient is weak or old, then drop sitting on a concrete bench or hard surface will be easier and safer to do. This should be repeated for 40-60 times and do it a few times is a day until it can pass out from urine. Please also see the web site (www.jumpandbump.com) for this exercise. This exercise will be effective if the stone's position is located above the urethra opening of the kidney or in the urethra or bladder. If the stone is below the urethra opening, then the bump position need to be modified so the stone can be moved downward.
This exercises and large quantity fluid drinking should continue until the stones are passed out. Besides taking this formula, Drinking some diuretic fluids like celery seed tea, diuretic and caffeine-containing drinks like regular teas will help make more urine during this short period. Do not expect regular herbal formulas can dissolve the oxalate stone in short time without using other supplements and other methods since it is hard t dissolve once formed (Dr. Yang has tried many market formulas with oriental and western herbs inside trying to "dissolve" the stone, but the stone passed out without any change in sizes from the CT scan showed). Your best bet is trying to pass it out with some aids. If the stones still does not pass out by this way in a few days or causing difficult urination, pain or bleeding, medical advice and examination should be done immediately to find out the reason and solution. Since the ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) can break the stone to smaller pieces and if the pieces does not come out completely, then it can become a seed to attract deposits on its surface and forming stones again. To prevent from recurring after passing out the stone(s), people should be careful to avoid food that can promote stone forming and taking some supplements that can prevent the.
This "Kidney Stone Formula" is based on nutritional aspects and TCM theory to help prevent stone forming. A good guideline is one glass of water every two hours after you are awake. Drink water before sleep and at night if you are wake to urinate. if you add a twist of lemon to your water will be even better. Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times. Tea has 15.6 mg oxalic acid per cup. Cocoa and chocolate also have too much oxalic acid to be used as beverage.
Diabetics are suggested to immediately eliminate all artificial sweeteners from their diet. Artificial sweeteners contain traces of wood alcohol (methanol) which accumulate in the pancreas and invite the pancreatic fluke (a parasite). Meat also will causes bone density loss and causing kidney stones since calcium will dissolve out from bones in order to neutralize the acidity in blood from meat consumption and the excess calcium will form oxalate crystals in urinary tracts.
Eliminate high sugar foods. High sugar intake is associated with increased risk of kidney stones.
Limit protein intake and take more vegetables and fruits.
3. Do more exercises and get plenty of sleep.
4. Medications to avoid: If you are taking Diamox or Crixivan, please talk to your doctor about changing prescriptions. These drugs have been associated with an increase in kidney stone formation.
